Position: Senior Corporate Relationship Manager
Location: Lilongwe, Malawi
Contract Type: Expatriate (3-Year Term, Renewable)
Reports To: Head of Corporate & Institutional Banking
Role Purpose
You will lead and manage a portfolio of high-value corporate clients, develop new business opportunities, and deliver customized financial solutions. The role demands a proactive relationship builder who can drive revenue growth, enhance client satisfaction, and uphold the Banks reputation for excellence in corporate banking.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a portfolio of large corporate clients across key sectors.
- Identify, acquire, and onboard new corporate clients to expand the Banks market share.
- Structure and deliver tailored financial solutions including lending, trade finance, cash management, and treasury products.
- Prepare high-quality credit proposals, financial analyses, and risk assessments.
- Cross-sell the Banks full range of products and services to deepen client relationships.
- Monitor client performance, ensure compliance with credit policies, and manage portfolio risk.
- Maintain strong market intelligence on industry trends and competitor activity.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Credit, Treasury, Operations, Legal, and Risk) to ensure seamless client service.
- Represent the Bank at industry events and business forums to build brand visibility.
- Contribute to annual sales targets, profitability goals, and client satisfaction metrics.
Key Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field.
- Minimum 8-12 years experience in Corporate or Institutional Banking, preferably with exposure to African or emerging markets.
- Proven track record in managing high-value client relationships and achieving business growth targets.
- Strong understanding of corporate credit, trade finance, and structured lending.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercially driven with a global mindset and cross-cultural adaptability.
- Willingness to relocate to Lilongwe, Malawi for a 3-year expatriate assignment.
Compensation (in USD)
Basic Salary: Monthly fixed pay
Expatriate Allowance: Monthly allowance
Fuel & Airtime: Monthly allowances provided
Bonus: Annual performance-based bonus
Gratuity: 10% of base pay (paid at contract end)
Accommodation: Furnished housing provided
Utilities: Water, electricity, gas, Wi-Fi covered
Domestic Staff: Bank contributes to wages for two staff
Transport: Fully maintained Bank car + fuel allowance
Medical & Dental: Family coverage (local + SADC/India)
Club Membership: Family membership at a local club
Security: 24/7 guard and alarm response
Life Insurance: 3 annual basic salary
Relocation: Shipment of personal goods (20ft container) at start and end of contract
Tax: All Fringe Benefit Taxes paid by the Bank
