About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Category Head to lead the Cosmetics, Skin Care, and Personal Care category. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for P&L management, product assortment, pricing, promotions, and growth strategy of the category.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of beauty and personal care market trends, strong vendor management and negotiation skills, and proven experience in driving category sales and profitability in a retail, e-commerce, or D2C setup.

Key Responsibilities

1. Category & P&L Ownership

- Own the end-to-end P&L for the Cosmetics / Skin Care / Personal Care category.

- Develop and execute annual operating plans, growth strategies, and promotional calendars.

- Monitor sales, margins, inventory, and pricing to achieve revenue and profitability targets.

2. Product & Assortment Strategy

- Curate product assortment based on market trends, customer demand, and competitor analysis.

- Identify gaps and opportunities in the product portfolio to maximize revenue.

- Work closely with the New Product Development (NPD) team for exclusive launches and private label initiatives.

3. Vendor Management & Sourcing

- Identify, onboard, and manage vendors for the category, ensuring quality and commercial viability.

- Negotiate pricing, margins, MOQs, and credit terms to maximize profitability.

- Ensure timely availability of products and manage supplier relationships for long-term growth.

4. Marketing & Promotions

- Collaborate with marketing and branding teams for category-specific campaigns, product launches, and influencer collaborations.

- Drive online and offline promotions, festive campaigns, and loyalty programs to boost sales.

- Optimize digital merchandising and cataloging for e-commerce platforms.

5. Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination

- Coordinate with supply chain teams to ensure optimum inventory levels and replenishment.

- Minimize stock-outs and overstock situations through demand forecasting and analytics.

- Monitor sell-through rates and design liquidation strategies for slow-moving SKUs.

6. Market Intelligence & Competition Tracking

- Conduct regular market research to track competitor pricing, new launches, and market trends.

- Provide data-backed insights to drive assortment and pricing decisions.

7. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Collaboration

- Lead and mentor a category management team to ensure high performance.

- Work closely with cross-functional teams - Finance, SCM, Marketing, Operations - to ensure category success.

Requirements

- MBA / PGDM from a reputed institute (preferably in Marketing / Retail / Operations).

- 8-12 years of experience in category management, merchandising, or buying - experience in cosmetics, skin care, or personal care is a must.

- Proven P&L ownership and ability to scale a category in e-commerce / retail / D2C environments.

- Strong analytical skills, negotiation ability, and vendor management experience.

- Passion for beauty and personal care industry trends and consumer behavior.
