Our typical customer livesin Tier 2 or 3 towns, has no credit history, a very low level of education and no banking transactions. We underwrite loans using revolutionary techniques like psychometrics, biometrics and gamification. The entire loan application journey is delivered digitally through an App.
We have a clear focus on financing commercial electric vehicles including E-2W, E-3W, E-4W, LCV and HCV, for individual drivers, helping in mass scale adoption of electric vehicles. In this business, we provide loans for vehicles and lease vehicles to fleet operators who
operate mid-mile and last-mile deliveries and taxi services, including quick commerce and e commerce. All vehicles financed by us have telematics which help drivers track and improve their productivity while keeping their vehicles secure.
We partner with manufacturers, dealers, fleet operators and e-commerce companies to acquire customers, providing point of sale finance.
We provide loansthrough our own NBFC as well asthrough multiple lending partners,supporting both DCO and fleet operatorsthrough tailored financing and leasing solutions.
Role Overview:
The Chief Risk Officer (CRO) will report to the CEO of our NBFC subsidiary Revfin Capital. He will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive risk management framework to safeguard the organization's financial health and regulatory compliance. This role involves identifying, assessing, mitigating, and monitoring risks that could impact the company's strategic objectives, operational efficiency, and business growth. The CRO will work closely with the executive team and board members to ensure risk management practices are integrated into all aspects of the business, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and the companys long-term goals.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Risk Strategy & Governance:
- Develop, implement, and oversee the enterprise riskmanagement(ERM)framework, ensuring a risk-aware culture acrossthe organization.
- Establish risk policies, procedures, and internal controls to mitigate credit, operational, regulatory, and market risks.
- Provide strategic risk insightsto seniormanagement and the board, advising on emerging risks and mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with RBI guidelines, SEBI regulations, and other relevantstatutory requirements.
2. Credit & Portfolio RiskManagement:
- Ensure the quality of the lending portfolio by planning and directing all aspects of credit and risk assessment.
- Develop and implement risk-related plans and formulate strategies to minimize and mitigate risks while monitoring progress.
- Conduct monthly portfolio reviews to assess portfolio performance and take necessary corrective actions.
- Continuously monitor portfolio trends to detect early signs of deterioration and take corrective actions.
- Establish robust mechanisms for problem loan identification, non-performing asset (NPA) management, and credit loss mitigation.
- Own credit policy and ensure its compliance and monitoring
3. Fleet Loans & Lease Underwriting:
- Develop a framework and own underwriting for fleet loans and leases.
- Conduct periodicmonitoring of fleet loan borrowersto assessrisk exposure and ensure compliance with lending norms.
- Implement robust risk assessment criteria tailored for fleet financing, ensuring sustainable portfolio performance.
4. Regulatory & ComplianceOversight:
- Stay ahead ofregulatory changes and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and industry standards.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, auditors, and legal teams to maintain adherence to evolving risk and compliance
requirements.
- Oversee risk reporting to the board, regulatory bodies, and internalstakeholders.
5. Technology& Innovation in RiskManagement:
- Leverage data analytics, AI-driven credit models, and automation toolsto enhance risk assessment and fraud detection.
- Implement cutting-edge risk monitoring systemsfor proactive identification of potential threats.
- Drive innovation in riskmanagement by integrating technology and industry bestpractices.
6. Crisis Management & Business Continuity:
- Develop and oversee the execution of crisismanagement and business continuity plans.
- Ensure resilience planning to safeguard operations against financial, operational, and reputational risks.
7. Stakeholder Management & Leadership:
- Foster a risk-conscious culture through training and awareness programsfor employees.
- Lead and mentor the risk management team, ensuring continuousimprovement and adherence to risk best practices.
- Engage with external stakeholders, including investors, regulators, and auditors, to maintain transparency in risk governance.
Requirements:
1. Bachelors degree in risk management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; a masters degree or professional certification (e.g., CRMP, CFA, FRM) is preferred.
2. Minimumof 10 years of experience in riskmanagement, preferably with commercial vehicle/commercialfleetloans and leasing industry, in an NBFC or financial institution
3. Should have independently managed risk function for a product line or business
4. Should have a good understanding of risk analytics and scoring models
5. Proven track record of developing and implementing effective risk managementstrategies and frameworks.
