Role Overview
We are seeking a results-driven Agency Development Manager to build, develop, and scale a high-performing agency channel. The role focuses on recruitment, development, and productivity of insurance advisors, driving sustainable business growth through strong people leadership and disciplined execution.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with solid experience in agency distribution, capable of translating business goals into on-ground execution while maintaining high levels of advisor engagement and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Agency Channel Development
- Recruit, onboard, and activate insurance advisors as per defined productivity benchmarks
- Build a strong and sustainable agency network with a focus on long-term retention
- Drive advisor productivity through structured training, coaching, and joint field work
- Ensure consistent growth in active advisor base and overall business contribution
Business & Sales Management
- Achieve assigned business targets in terms of premium, advisor activation, and persistency
- Drive product mix across protection, savings, investment, and health insurance products
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly performance metrics and take corrective actions
- Plan and execute local sales campaigns, contests, and activation initiatives
Team & Stakeholder Management
- Mentor and motivate advisors to build entrepreneurial mindsets
- Conduct regular performance reviews, training sessions, and capability-building programs
- Coordinate with internal teams (training, operations, underwriting, and service) to ensure smooth business flow
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory guidelines
Market & Process Ownership
- Analyze local market trends and competitor strategies to refine acquisition and growth plans
- Ensure high-quality business sourcing with focus on persistency and customer satisfaction
- Maintain accurate reporting and documentation related to agency performance
Experience & Qualifications:
- 4-7 years of experience in Agency Development / Agency Sales within Life Insurance
- Proven experience in advisor recruitment, training, and productivity management
- Strong understanding of life insurance products including Protection, Savings, Investment, and Health
- Graduate in any discipline; MBA is an added advantage
- Prior experience in leading field-based sales teams is preferred
