Job Purpose:
To manage and grow the Retail Agri Business portfolio by acquiring new clients, deepening relationships with existing farmers and agri-entrepreneurs, and cross-selling banking products. The RM will ensure quality sourcing, credit assessment, and post-disbursement relationship management while maintaining compliance with policies and risk guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Acquisition:
- Identify and acquire new clients in the Agri and Agri-allied sector (farmers, traders, processors, agri SMEs).
- Generate business for agriculture loans, KCC, farm equipment finance, warehouse receipts, and agri value chain products.
- Develop catchment strategies to penetrate rural and semi-urban markets.
Portfolio & Relationship Management:
- Manage relationships with existing customers to enhance engagement and wallet share.
- Monitor portfolio performance, repayment behavior, and proactively address delinquencies.
- Provide financial solutions tailored to agri needs (credit, liabilities, insurance, investment products).
Credit & Risk Management:
- Conduct preliminary credit assessment and ensure quality sourcing as per bank policy.
- Assist in loan documentation, appraisal, and timely disbursement.
- Ensure adherence to compliance, KYC, AML, and RBI guidelines.
Cross-Selling & Revenue Generation:
- Cross-sell liability products (CASA, term deposits), insurance, and digital banking solutions.
- Drive fee-based income from third-party product distribution.
- Achieve assigned business targets for assets, liabilities, and cross-sell.
Market & Customer Insights:
- Stay updated on Agri business trends, government schemes, subsidies, and local crop patterns.
- Provide feedback to product teams for new product development or enhancement.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of agriculture sector, crop cycles, and agri value chains.
- Business development and relationship management skills.
- Credit assessment and risk analysis capability.
- Communication, negotiation, and customer service orientation.
- Willingness to travel extensively in rural/semi-urban areas.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Graduate/Post Graduate (preferably in Agriculture, Agri Business, Rural Management, or Finance).
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in Retail Agri Lending/Agri Business Banking.
- Exposure to sourcing, underwriting, and managing Agri loan portfolios preferred.
