Role Summary:
The RM will build, nurture, and manage relationships with clients (HNI / Mass Affluent), understand their investment goals and risk appetite, recommend suitable investment products, and achieve AUM targets. This role demands deep knowledge of financial markets, excellent communication, and ability to work with cross-functional teams (research, operations, compliance).
Key Responsibilities:
Area Responsibilities:
- Client Acquisition & Business Development - Identify, reach out to and onboard new clients (HNI / mass affluent).
- Generate leads via referrals, networking, events, partners.
- Present investment product propositions: PMS, AIFs, Mutual Funds, Direct Equity, Structured Products, etc.
- Achieve assigned AUM / revenue targets.
- Client Servicing & Relationship Management - Develop deep understanding of client goals, risk profile, liquidity needs.
- Conduct periodic reviews of client portfolios.
- Ensure clients are satisfied, respond to queries, complaints.
- Maintain regular communication & reporting (performance, market outlook).
- Product & Market Expertise - Stay up-to-date with financial markets, macroeconomic trends, regulatory changes.
- Have solid knowledge of each investment product their features, risk, returns.
- Liaise with investment / product / research teams to get inputs, product-updates.
- Compliance, Documentation & Risk Management - Ensure KYC / AML / regulatory paperwork are complete.
- Adhere to internal policies, regulatory requirements, risk limits.
- Ensure proper documentation for transactions.
- Monitor adherence to portfolio guidelines, risk appetite.
- Collaboration & Internal Coordination - Work closely with research, operations, legal/compliance teams to ensure smooth execution.
- Coordinate for client onboarding, fund disbursement, product implementation.
- Prepare client-facing materials: presentations, reports.
- Sales Planning & Performance Tracking - Develop sales pipelines, forecasts & action plans.
- Track performance vs targets.
- Provide feedback to product / strategy teams based on client needs & market info.
Required Experience & Skills:
Category Details:
- Experience - Typically 5-10 years in wealth management, investment advisory, PMS, AIF / fund sales. Handling IFA channel preferred.
- Educational Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance / Economics / Commerce / Business. An MBA / CFA / CFP is a plus.
- Technical Skills - Strong understanding of investment products: equities, fixed income, alternative investments.
- Good financial modelling / analytical skills.
- Ability to interpret market trends, investment research.
Soft Skills - Excellent communication, presentation skills.
- Strong relationship building & networking.
- Persuasive negotiation skills.
- Client-centric mindset, integrity, responsiveness.
Other - Comfortable with targets.
- Ability to travel locally / regionally for client meetings.
- Proficient in relevant tools: Excel / PowerPoint / CRM.
- Good knowledge of compliance and regulatory framework (SEBI, etc.).
