Role summary:

You will own the end-to-end sales cycle for Provakil's banking vertical from identifying and opening new accounts in the banking sector to driving pre-sales initiatives, running solution selling conversations, negotiating complex enterprise deals, and managing client relationships post-sale. This is a senior, full-cycle role: you hunt new logos, close them, and then grow them.

Youll be the senior sales leader who personally drives revenue from the banking segment. The expectation is that you bring existing credibility and relationships in the banking ecosystem, understand how large financial institutions buy enterprise software, and can navigate their procurement processes, compliance requirements, and multi-layered decision-making structures. Youll carry a revenue quota and be measured on pipeline generated, deals closed, and revenue delivered.

What youll do:

Hunting & pipeline development:

- Identify, target, and open conversations with banking and financial institution prospects commercial banks, private banks, PSU banks, NBFCs, and other large financial services organisations.

- Leverage your existing network and relationships in the banking sector to create warm introductions and accelerate pipeline development.

- Map decision-makers and influencers within target accounts: heads of legal, compliance, company secretary, risk, IT, and CXO-level stakeholders.

- Build and maintain a robust pipeline with accurate forecasting banking sales cycles are long, and your pipeline needs to reflect reality, not optimism.

- Represent Provakil at industry events, conferences, and roundtables relevant to the banking and financial services sector.

Pre-sales & solution selling:

- Drive pre-sales initiatives for banking prospects: lead discovery sessions, understand the clients operational landscape, and identify where Provakils platform creates value.

- Partner with the pre-sales and product teams to design tailored solutions that address each prospects specific business challenges and operational requirements.

- Run executive-level presentations and product demonstrations position the platform as a strategic investment, not just a software purchase.

- Respond to RFPs, RFIs, and formal procurement processes with compelling, technically accurate proposals.

- Articulate clear business value: efficiency gains, risk reduction, compliance improvement, and cost savings in terms that resonate with banking leadership.

Deal negotiation & closure:

- Lead complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise negotiations involving legal, procurement, IT, compliance, and business teams within banking organisations.

- Navigate long sales cycles with patience and structure manage deal momentum across multiple quarters without losing control or urgency.

- Handle pricing discussions, contract terms, SLA negotiations, and security/compliance requirements that are standard in banking procurement.

- Close large-value enterprise deals and meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets.

Account management & expansion:

- Own the post-sale relationship for closed banking accounts ensure smooth handoff to implementation, stay connected with executive stakeholders, and monitor account health.

- Identify expansion opportunities within banking clients: new departments, additional modules, broader rollouts, and new use cases that emerge as the client matures on the platform.

- Conduct periodic business reviews with banking clients to demonstrate ROI, share product updates, and align on future goals.

- Drive retention by ensuring clients see continuous, measurable value from the platform a renewed banking client is worth significantly more than a new one.

Internal collaboration & market intelligence:

- Work with Product to provide structured feedback from the banking vertical: what prospects need, what deals are being lost to, and where product gaps exist.

- Partner with Pre-Sales and Implementation teams to ensure whats sold is what gets delivered seamless handovers with full context.

- Contribute to Provakils banking vertical strategy: target segments, pricing models, competitive positioning, and go-to-market approach.

- Maintain CRM hygiene: deal status, meeting notes, stakeholder maps, and revenue forecasts updated in real time.

What success looks like in your first 60 days:

First 30 days:

- Complete onboarding and develop a thorough understanding of Provakils product, pricing, competitive landscape, and how the platform applies to banking use cases.

- Map the banking market: identify target accounts, segment them by priority (private/PSU/NBFC), and develop an initial target account list for the first two quarters.

- Leverage your existing network to open at least 35 conversations with banking prospects within the first month.

- Review any existing banking pipeline or client relationships and take ownership of in-flight opportunities.

- Build relationships with internal teams: Pre-Sales, Product, Implementation, and Sales leadership.

Days 3160:

- Run pipeline independently prospecting, discovery, and demo activity should be in full swing.

- Conduct your first independent discovery meetings and executive presentations with qualified banking prospects.

- Present a quarterly banking vertical plan to sales leadership: target accounts, pipeline forecast, key relationships to develop, and planned activity.

- Submit your first proposal or commercial offer to a qualified banking opportunity.

- Provide initial market feedback to Product on banking-specific requirements and competitive dynamics.

Must-have skills:

- 10 - 12+ years of enterprise B2B sales experience with a significant portion spent selling technology or software solutions to banks and financial institutions.

- Proven track record of closing large, complex enterprise deals in the banking sector with evidence of meeting or exceeding revenue targets consistently.

- Existing relationships and credibility within the banking ecosystem you should be able to open doors through your network, not just cold outreach.

- Deep understanding of how banks operate: their organisational structures, decision-making processes, procurement cycles, and the stakeholders involved in enterprise technology purchases.

- Solution selling expertise you can understand a clients business challenges, connect them to product capabilities, and present a compelling case for investment.

- Experience navigating multi-stakeholder buying committees and long sales cycles (612+ months) typical of banking enterprise deals.

- Strong executive presence and communication skills youre credible in a room with CXOs, heads of legal, compliance officers, and senior IT leadership.

- CRM discipline and structured pipeline management you forecast accurately and manage deal stages with rigour.

Good-to-have skills:

- Experience selling SaaS or cloud-based enterprise platforms to banking clients specifically.

- Familiarity with the regulatory and compliance landscape that drives technology adoption in Indian banking.

- Experience with PSU banking procurement processes (tendering, empanelment, government procurement norms).

- Prior experience building or scaling a banking vertical within a technology company.

- MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification.
