Principal Associate, Banking & Finance Lawyer (7-10 Years of Experience)

About the Job:

We are seeking a seasoned and accomplished lawyer with 7-10 years of experience to join our firm as a Principal Associate in the Banking & Finance team. This is a leadership-oriented role for an experienced professional to be based in our Mumbai or Delhi office. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the banking and finance sector and a proven ability to lead complex transactions and mentor junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

- Leading and managing complex banking and finance transactions from start to finish, including large-scale project finance, corporate lending, and structured finance deals.

- Drafting, negotiating, and finalizing a wide range of sophisticated financing and security documentation.

- Advising clients on intricate legal and regulatory issues, including insolvency, debt restructuring, and corporate governance.

- Supervising and mentoring junior associates, providing guidance on professional development and legal work.

- Actively participating in business development and contributing to the growth of the firm's Banking & Finance practice. Experience in regulatory matters is a significant advantage.

The Successful Applicant:

- Admitted to the Bar.

- Possession of an LL., MAS, and/or J. degree is highly preferred.

- Demonstrated extensive experience in a law firm's Banking & Finance practice, with a proven track record of successfully leading transactions.

- Exceptional legal knowledge, strong commercial acumen, and superior drafting and negotiation skills.

- Ability to manage multiple high-stakes projects and mentor a team.

- A strong professional network and the capacity to build and maintain client relationships
