Head of Finance/CA /AVP - Finance /Leadership Role

Role Objective

The Head of Finance will lead the finance function for a manufacturing-linked B2B marketplace with embedded fintech/credit solutions. The role combines strong financial governance, working capital and cash-flow management, statutory compliance, and strategic business partnering to support scale, profitability, and risk-managed growth.

Key Responsibilities

Core Finance & Governance

- Lead end-to-end finance and accounting operations including books closure, financial statements, and MIS.

- Ensure compliance with Ind AS / IGAAP and all applicable statutory regulations (Income Tax, GST, Customs, audits).

- Establish and maintain robust internal controls across inventory, receivables, payables, and credit exposure.

- Experience in raising and managing debt & equity banking relationship

- Manufacturing & Supply Chain Finance

- Oversee inventory accounting, valuation, reconciliation, and controls for high-volume raw material transactions.

- Drive accurate product costing, margin analysis, and profitability reporting across categories.

- Partner with procurement and operations teams to optimize cost structures and supplier economics.

B2B Marketplace & Fintech Exposure

- Manage working capital for a transaction-heavy B2B marketplace environment.

- Monitor customer credit exposure, receivables ageing, and risk provisioning.

- Support embedded finance, lending, or credit programs through financial controls, reporting, and risk oversight.

- Ensure strong alignment between business growth, credit discipline, and cash-flow sustainability.

- Enable cost-benefit analysis for new business proposals and guide on optimizing the outcomes

Cash Flow, Budgeting & Business Partnering

- Own cash-flow forecasting, liquidity planning, and treasury management.

- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis; enforce budgetary controls on OPEX and CAPEX.

- Provide actionable financial insights to leadership for pricing, sourcing, and growth decisions.

Systems, Controls & Risk

- Drive effective utilization and enhancement of ERP and finance systems (e.g., Microsoft Navision).

- Ensure insurance coverage and financial risk mitigation across assets and operations.

- Review and vet commercial contracts, vendor agreements, and customer terms from a financial perspective.

- Review and vet recovery petitions / compromise settlement agreements / litigation applications

- Experience in managing Trade Credit Insurance will be an added advantage

Team Leadership

- Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing finance and accounts team.

- Build strong cross-functional collaboration with sales, procurement, supply chain, and credit teams.

Qualifications & Candidate Profile

- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with 18-20 years of post-qualification experience.

- Strong exposure to manufacturing, B2B marketplaces, supply chain finance, or fintech-led business models.

- Proven experience in working capital-intensive operations. Experience in a fast-paced growing start-up in similar / other industry will be an added advantage.

- Hands-on experience with ERP/finance systems and management reporting.

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate numbers into business decisions.

- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and people leadership skills.
