Qualification: LL.B. / LL.M. from a reputed institution
Purpose:
To oversee the drafting, negotiation, and risk management of EPC, O&M, PPA, JV, and other commercial contracts across infrastructure and renewable energy projects. The role ensures legally sound, commercially viable, and risk-optimized contracting for large-scale projects.
Key Focus Areas:
- EPC and O&M contracts for infrastructure and renewable energy projects.
- Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and related commercial arrangements.
- Supply, service, and financing agreements.
- Project bids, vendor and customer contracts.
- Joint venture, consortium, and strategic partnership documentation.
Regulators / Forums:
- Interaction with clients, vendors, EPC contractors, and financiers.
- Representation in arbitration and dispute resolution forums.
- Coordination with regulatory and compliance bodies as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and standardize EPC, O&M, PPA, and JV contracts for infrastructure and renewable projects.
- Provide legal and commercial support during bid evaluations, negotiations, and project execution.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual and legal risks in complex project structures.
- Manage and resolve disputes, claims, and arbitrations arising under commercial contracts.
- Advise senior management and project leadership on contractual positions and risk exposure.
- Drive process improvements and knowledge sharing within the legal and commercial contracting team.
- Lead and mentor a team of commercial lawyers and contract managers.
Profile & Skills:
- LL.B. / LL.M. with 1825 years of experience in infrastructure, power, or renewable energy sectors.
- Proven expertise in drafting and negotiating EPC, O&M, and PPA contracts.
- Strong understanding of project financing, risk allocation, and commercial structuring.
- Experience in cross-border contracts and international project transactions.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and arbitration matters.
- Leadership experience in managing legal and contracts teams across large-scale projects.
