Role Scope:
The Plant HR Manager will be responsible for managing end-to-end HR operations at the plant, with strong focus on Industrial Relations (IR), Employee Relations (ER), Union Management, and blue-collar workforce management. The role requires deep on-ground experience in handling labor matters, statutory compliance, and maintaining harmonious industrial relations.
Role & responsibilities:
Plant HR Operations -
- Oversee complete HR activities at plant level including hiring, onboarding, attendance, payroll coordination, and policy implementation.
- Manage large blue-collar workforce and contract labor.
- Ensure smooth day-to-day HR functioning at the site.
Industrial Relations (IR) & Employee Relations (ER) -
- Handle end-to-end IR matters including Trade Union management and negotiations.
- Lead wage settlements and Long Term Settlements (LTS) discussions.
- Manage grievance handling, disciplinary actions, and domestic inquiries.
- Drive harmonious relations between management and workforce.
Union & Contract Labour Management-
- Work closely with union representatives and ensure effective communication.
- Oversee contract labour compliance and vendor coordination.
- Ensure adherence to statutory norms under Contract Labour Act and related regulations.
Statutory Compliance & Labour Laws-
- Ensure compliance with all applicable labour laws (Factories Act, Industrial Disputes Act, CLRA, etc.).
- Coordinate inspections, audits, and statutory filings.
- Maintain documentation and records as per legal requirements.
Policy Implementation & Workforce Engagement-
- Implement HR policies and initiatives at plant level.
- Facilitate work committee meetings and employee engagement programs.
- Support leadership in manpower planning and workforce optimization.
Preferred candidate profile:
- MBA / MSW in HR or relevant qualification.
- 10-15 years of plant HR experience in a manufacturing setup.
- Strong hands-on experience in IR / ER / Union Management, with mandatory exposure to LTS negotiations.
- In-depth knowledge of labour laws and statutory compliance.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to manage large blue-collar workforce on-site.
