Hiring for a UK based mnc for the role of India Plant SCM Head (plant role)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Ensure a safe working environment and personally commit to and deliver Environmental, Health & Safety performance within the assigned area of responsibility

- Establish, maintain and cultivate a customer focus mindset and excellent Customers Relationships. This includes internal customer and supplier relationship and focus.

- Meet Budget (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Costs) within their area of responsibility and contribute to overall Plant Budget.

- Interact and work with all Plant Operational and Support Functions (Production, Quality, Regional Supply Chain, Engineering, EH&S, Human Resources, Finance, and technical departments etc.) to ensure the integrated operation of the manufacturing unit. This includes implementing projects and processes geared at improving plant performance.

- Represent the company and their respective department in any agreements with the collective bargaining unit and supporting staff in implementation.

- Based on local employment law and regulations, the supervisor is responsible to establish a constructive social climate and open dialogue with Union representatives and work council.

- The Manager will take ownership and responsibility for ensuring the highest level of safety in their respective areas as well as coordinating with other areas to remain aligned with site-wide rules, policies, and initiatives.

ORGANISATION STRUCTURE (including Reporting Lines):

- The position will report to India Plant Manager.

Following team members will report to this position/ Span of Control

- India Logistics Manager, India PGM Control Manager, 3 Planners and 4 team leaders for warehouse will report to this position

SCOPE:

- The CA SCM Manager will be the key member of the Plant Management team with full responsibility and accountability of all activity within the area of CA India.

SPECIAL FACTORS:

- This role is based within a Manufacturing Plant

- The role may require occasional travel to other locations (potentially both national and international), for example for meetings or training.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

QUALIFICATIONS/ KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE (TECHNICAL/ PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS COMPETENCY):

- Bachelor's degree in engineering Essential

- 15 Years+ experience in a manufacturing environment having led Supply Chain areas in automotive and or Chemical companies Essential

- Substantial experience in working effectively in complex Matrix organizations Essential

- Significant experience in building and maintaining positive customer relationships Essential

- Exposure to systems like 5S, Kaizen, Problem Solving Tools Desirable

- Exposure to System like TS16949 and ISO14001 and OHSAS 18000 Desirable

- Having led one or two large support functions outside the area of technical expertise Desirable
