Job Summary:

- The Plant Head will be responsible for managing all aspects of the automotive manufacturing plant's operations, including production, quality, maintenance, safety, and employee management.

- The role involves driving operational excellence, improving productivity, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining high-quality standards in alignment with company goals.

- The ideal candidate will have significant experience in plant management within the automotive industry, with a proven track record of leading large teams and managing complex production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Management:

- Lead the entire plant operations, including production, quality assurance, maintenance, logistics, and safety.

- Develop and implement strategies to optimize production efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall plant performance.

- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and teamwork among the plant's workforce.

Production Management:

- Oversee the planning and execution of production schedules to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets.

- Ensure effective resource allocation (manpower, equipment, materials) to achieve maximum productivity.

- Implement lean manufacturing principles and other best practices to streamline operations and reduce waste.

Quality Control:

- Ensure strict adherence to quality standards and automotive industry regulations.

- Monitor product quality and take corrective actions as needed to address any deviations from the standard.

- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to implement quality improvement initiatives.

Safety & Compliance:

- Ensure that the plant complies with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.

- Promote a safe working environment and conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.

- Implement safety protocols and ensure proper training for all employees.

Cost Control & Budgeting:

- Manage the plant's budget, controlling costs and improving efficiency to meet financial targets.

- Oversee procurement and inventory management to ensure cost-effective sourcing and use of materials.

- Track operational costs and identify areas for cost reduction.

Maintenance & Equipment Management:

- Oversee the maintenance of machinery and equipment to ensure smooth and uninterrupted production.

- Collaborate with the maintenance team to plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules.

- Drive investments in new technology and equipment to improve plant performance and reliability.

Talent Management:

- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, ensuring alignment with company goals and fostering a positive work culture.

- Handle workforce planning, including hiring, training, and performance management.

- Drive employee engagement and build a motivated team to meet production goals.

Strategic Planning:

- Participate in long-term strategic planning for plant expansion, capacity building, and technology upgrades.

- Work closely with senior management to align plant operations with the company's broader business strategy.

Qualifications & Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering or a related field.

- An MBA or other relevant postgraduate qualification would be an advantage.

- 12-20 years of experience in the automotive manufacturing industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role such as Plant Manager or Head of Operations.

- In-depth knowledge of automotive production processes, lean manufacturing, and industry regulations.

- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to lead large teams and manage complex operations.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and a results-oriented mindset.

- Strong understanding of cost control, budgeting, and financial management.

- Familiarity with safety standards, compliance, and environmental regulations in a manufacturing setting.

- Ability to handle pressure, prioritize tasks, and make strategic decisions.

- Proficient in ERP systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and data analysis tools.
