Plant Head will be responsible for managing overall plant operations, to oversee the manufacturing of equipment's and to ensure production, performance, and quality standards are consistently met; ensuring production eAiciency, quality standards, cost-eAectiveness, and compliance with safety and statutory requirements.
The role will focus on driving operational excellence, team leadership, and continuous improvement across all departments.
Roles & Responsibilities:
1) Overall responsibility for Manufacturing activities across the plant
2) Create and implement best practice manufacturing vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve plant performance
3) Ensure that manufacturing strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality and delivery targets and which enables the company to function and compete eAectively in the market
4) Evaluate the challenges faced by the various departments and take actions to mitigate risks and develop opportunities
5) Contribute to overall business strategy and annual budgeting process
6) Implement a customer focused operational culture delivering world class customer service levels
7) Plan and execute maintenance activity to ensure plant is kept safe and compliant
8) Ensure that Environmental, Health and Safety, manufacturing and quality standards and procedures are adhered to
9) Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance
10) Provide leadership to departments under control and coach, mentor and develop direct reports and manage a high performing team that delivers continuous improvement, added value
11) Responsible for developing the appropriate organisational structure, resource plan and culture to support the business objectives and customer deliverables Skills & Competencies:
Experience Required:
- Candidate must have good engineering knowledge. Some experience of design work is preferable.
- Very good knowledge & experience of machining (Heavy Conventional & CNC machines)
- Must have experience in heavy fabrication
- Must have hands on experience in implementing LEAN practices
- A person who has developed systems on his own and implemented them
- A strong Change agent who can challenge status quo
- Experience in ERP will be desirable
- Knowledge in industry 4.0
- Experience in quality management systems
- Experience in maintenance and refurbishment of machines
- Experience in working in unionised set up
- Proven record as a strong & eAective people manager
Qualification & Competencies required:
- B.Tech/M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
- 15-20 plus years in plant operations
