Position Purpose:

- The role holder is responsible for leading a team of researchers working at the bench ensuring clear and on time delivery of products as planned by the department.

- The incumbent should be sufficiently knowledgeable in his field to aid the team to make deliveries as needed by the organization. The role holder should and must monitor the work of every team member with distinct and definite inputs to remove deficiencies and improve the quality of work and deliver on time.

- The person should have clarity on projects and if need be, collaborating with other teams after seeking due permissions form the Lead - FD.

- The incumbent must be hands-on the job as well as participate in all departmental and interdepartmental meetings as required. Maintain and help maintain safety and ISO rules as recommended by the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational:

- Be Hand-on and Help team members firm up on recipes for potential implementation.

- Drive Innovation and New Product Development to suit market needs.

- Maintain timelines for delivery as per agreement on various projects

- Review projects on a day to day basis-write a report

- Manage people for optimized output in quantity and quality.

- Identify and optimize specific processes and oversee scale ups

- Record and Maintain all data Review with LEAD - FD

- Prepare scale up/technology transfer documents

- Liaise with manufacturing for scale up at the plant level.

- Participate in divisional meetings as and when required.

Other Responsibilities:

- Participate in all departmental meetings and inter-departmental meetings (if required)

Process Improvements:

- Identify areas of improvement and post discussions with LEAD - FD and stakeholders implement the same to improve on quality or lower cost or both.

- Seek regular customer (internal/external) feedback and follow-up improvement opportunities

- Interact with vendors/suppliers to obtain info on RMs or machinery available in the market and costs.

Audits & Compliance:

- Ensure adherence to all policies and procedures, related to procurement, and supply chain processes

People:

- Ensure adequate staffing of team as per plan

- Review performance of the team, provide necessary performance feedback and provide necessary training, as per identified training needs

- Lead professional development by attending internal / external trainings

- Guide the team to achieve the planned targets

- Cooperate with other team members

- Get and Give support as and when required and requested.

Profile Requirements:

Educational Qualification:

- Ph.D./M.Sc./MTech. in Physical/Analytical/ Agro - Chemistry from a reputed University / Institute with excellent academic credentials

Experience:

- 1418 years post Ph.D. in industry (Hands-on) Preferred.

- Experience in Formulations (Hands on) and in Agrochemicals/Pharma a must
