Role Overview:

The Head of IT Infrastructure Operations will serve as the primary architect and leader for the companys technological backbone in Nigeria. This role involves overseeing the end-to-end lifecycle of data centers, network security protocols, and cloud environments to ensure 99.9% uptime for mission-critical business operations. You will work closely with executive leadership, regional stakeholders, and external vendors to align IT strategy with business growth, ensuring that the infrastructure remains resilient, scalable, and compliant with international standards. Your leadership will be pivotal in driving operational efficiency and fostering a culture of technical excellence across the regional team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Direct the comprehensive management of IT infrastructure services to ensure seamless business continuity and high availability for all regional operations.

- Oversee the strategic planning and execution of data center operations, ensuring physical and logical security measures meet global industry benchmarks.

- Manage the departmental budget, allocating resources effectively to maximize ROI on hardware, software, and cloud infrastructure investments.

- Implement rigorous change management and problem management frameworks to minimize service disruptions and ensure rapid resolution of technical incidents.

- Lead the design and deployment of robust network security architectures to protect sensitive corporate data against evolving cyber threats.

- Drive IT governance initiatives to ensure all infrastructure activities comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and local legal standards.

- Mentor and develop high-performing technical teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth to meet the evolving demands of the business.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale, enterprise-grade IT infrastructure and complex data center environments within the energy or industrial sectors.

- Proven ability to design and implement secure, scalable cloud infrastructure strategies that support long-term business objectives.

- Strong proficiency in IT governance and compliance, with a track record of successfully navigating regulatory landscapes in international markets.

- Exceptional leadership capabilities, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams, mentor senior staff, and drive organizational change.

- Advanced financial acumen, including experience in managing multi-million dollar IT budgets and vendor contract negotiations.

- Superior communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders and executive boards.

- A minimum of 20 to 25 years of professional experience in IT infrastructure and operations, with a preference for candidates who have successfully managed operations in challenging geographical regions.

- A Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, supplemented by relevant industry certifications in infrastructure management or security.
