Role Overview:
As the Head of Accounts and Finance, you will serve as the financial architect for our Nigerian operations, overseeing the entire spectrum of fiscal management. You will work closely with the Board of Directors and regional leadership to ensure that our financial health aligns with our aggressive growth targets in the energy sector. This role is pivotal in navigating the complexities of local regulatory environments while providing the strategic foresight necessary to optimize cash flow, manage capital expenditure, and ensure the long-term sustainability of our regional business units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct the end-to-end financial reporting process to provide stakeholders with accurate, transparent, and timely insights into the company's fiscal performance.
- Oversee comprehensive statutory audits and ensure full compliance with Nigerian tax laws and international financial reporting standards to mitigate operational risks.
- Spearhead the annual budgeting and forecasting cycles, aligning financial resources with the company's strategic project milestones.
- Implement and maintain rigorous internal control frameworks to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data across all departments.
- Lead complex financial analysis and modeling to support executive decision-making regarding project investments and operational expansion.
- Manage corporate taxation strategy, ensuring efficient tax planning and adherence to local fiscal policies to optimize the company's bottom line.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale financial operations, with a proven ability to lead finance teams in challenging international jurisdictions.
- Exceptional proficiency in financial planning and analysis, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business strategies for senior leadership.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to navigate cross-cultural professional environments and communicate effectively with both local authorities and global stakeholders.
- Advanced knowledge of statutory compliance, internal controls, and corporate governance, particularly within the context of the energy or industrial sectors.
- A qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with 20 - 27 years of progressive experience in finance and accounts, showcasing a track record of stability and leadership.
- High degree of adaptability to on-site work environments in Nigeria, maintaining a hands-on approach to problem-solving and operational oversight.
