We are looking for a Key Account Manager to manage and grow Modern Trade and large-format retail accounts, strengthen long-term partnerships, and drive revenue through strategic account planning, promotions, and flawless execution.
Role Overview:
The Key Account Manager will be responsible for managing key retail accounts, driving sell-in and sell-out, ensuring strong in-store visibility, and executing trade marketing initiatives. This role requires close collaboration with internal teams and external partners to deliver sustained growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Account Management & Relationship Building:
- Manage and grow key Modern Trade and large-format retail accounts
- Build strong, long-term relationships with category managers, buyers, and store operations teams
- Act as the single point of contact for assigned key accounts
Sales Growth & Business Development:
- Drive primary and secondary sales, achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual targets
- Identify opportunities for account expansion, new store additions, and range enhancements
- Lead negotiations on pricing, margins, promotions, and commercial terms
Trade Marketing & Promotions:
- Plan and execute promotional calendars, schemes, and seasonal campaigns
- Ensure timely rollout of new product launches across accounts
- Coordinate with marketing teams on POSM, branding, and visibility initiatives
Forecasting & Supply Coordination:
- Prepare accurate sales forecasts and demand plans for key accounts
- Work closely with supply chain and operations teams to ensure product availability
- Monitor inventory levels, replenishment cycles, and sell-through performance
In-Store Execution & Visibility:
- Ensure optimal pricing, planogram adherence, shelf visibility, and merchandising standards
- Track in-store execution and resolve gaps in visible display or stock placement
- Monitor competition and share market insights with internal stakeholders
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Coordinate with internal sales, marketing, finance, and logistics teams for seamless execution
- Support account reconciliations, claims management, and commercial documentation
- Provide regular business reviews and performance reports to leadership
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Achievement of sales and revenue targets
- Account growth and expansion
- Promotional effectiveness and sell-through
- Forecast accuracy and inventory health
- In-store visibility and execution compliance
Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or related field
- MBA or equivalent qualification is a plus
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in Key Account Management, preferably in consumer electronics, mobile accessories, FMCG, or durable goods
- Hands-on experience managing Modern Trade or large-format retail accounts
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
- Analytical mindset with strong reporting and forecasting skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
