This is an opportunity to work with the best and the brightest in the field of providing solutions and services within entire life-cycle of IP from development to management to monetization.   This position will work in a team environment to provide support to the IP/technology assessment team of experts located in the Silicon Valley, USA for the purpose of assisting clients for IP Monetization through patent transactions, licensing and/or litigation. He/she may lead projects comprising patent search and analytics, technology reviews and market research. In general, his/her responsibilities will include patent searching, claims analysis, patent/product mapping, and market/industry research.   Responsibilities:   - Work for the clients and the US team to define process requirements to enable patent transactions (buy/sell), licensing or litigation in different verticals within the high technology sector (e.g. software, computer architecture, cloud computing, consumer electronics, semiconductors, networking, etc.).   - Conduct patent screening (e.g. to develop a high level categorization of a portfolio), patent analytics (e.g. theme analysis, IP mapping in specific technology areas, assignee and inventor analysis, technology maps, etc.) and IP intelligence for monetization. Search for complementary or competitive patents using tools such as MicroPat, Innography, Thomson Innovation, Patent Café, etc.   - Understand patent claims and map claims to commercial products and/or the technologies used within the products to demonstrate commercial application of the patented technology.   - Provide support and assistance for patent valuation by monitoring technology development, patent filings, M&A activities, etc. Examples of market intelligence include market shares, product lines, product roadmaps, supply chains, etc.   Desired Skills & Experience   Requirements:   - The candidate must be self-driven and motivated, have project management skills. He/she must possess thorough knowledge of reading patents (from bibliographic information to abstract to specification to claims) and be able to grasp the “invention” quickly. He/she must have a very good understanding of the patent prosecution process and must have an “expert level” hands on knowledge of at least one of the IP search/analytics tools such as Thomson Innovation, Delphion, Patent Café, Innography, etc.   - Experience with portfolio/patent infringement search techniques is highly desirable. He/she must be creative in being able to sift through vast amounts of data to find the “needle in a hay stack”.   - He/she must have good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills and must be organized and detail oriented.   - He/She must possess good PowerPoint and Excel skills.   Experience:   Minimum 3 years of hands on experience in patent and technology analysis and IP analytics with some experience in the high-tech industry. The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of the design/manufacturing areas of a company that may be involved in consumer electronics, computer systems, networking, wireless, or semiconductors (memory, wireless, logic, etc.) and other computing technologies.   Education:   An undergraduate degree in Electronics & Communications or Computer Science degree ONLY.
