Job title: Sales Director


Department: School Sales


Reports to (title): Managing Director


Division: Education


PURPOSE OF THE JOB:


To deliver the budgeted sales growth of School Education.


Grow user school base and gain revenue market share.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES/KEY RESULT AREAS:


- Create sales strategy and Go to Market plans for reaching out to target schools for promotion and adoption.


- Drive adoption of digital / blended products in target schools.


- Implement best in class sales processes for governance of agreed execution plan (Roadmap Plan)


- Build capability of sales team with structured interventions in conjunction with HR, Product and Finance .


- Review all sales policies at periodic intervals and initiate changes to make them fit for purpose.


- Track competitors activities and take necessary steps to enhance competitive intensity to achieve market share growth.


- To keep abreast with new technological changes affecting School business and make necessary recommendations for new developments.


- To set up sales budgets and manage sales overheads.


- Co-create credit policies and implement them.


- To continually review structures across School sales to ensure the resources and skills are optimally employed to best achieve sales growth.


- To work closely with the key customers/booksellers to establish a strong overall business relationship on which the sales of School Education list can be maximized.


- Developing effective systems to keep in contact with colleagues in Oxford and other OUP offices for importing/reprinting appropriate titles for the Indian market. Also developing effective communication with School sales colleagues in other International Division branch offices.


- Working closely with marketing and product colleagues by providing market feedback and to ensure that future new products are published in a manner and at a price appropriate to the market.


- To maintain and enhance the public image of OUP India by adhering to the highest standards in business ethics and behaviour.


KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:


- PGDM/MBA degree


- 15-20 years of sales experience in a professionally managed organization and handling a team in a senior managerial capacity


- Sales experience in related organizations


- Ability to multi-task and handle a fast-paced work environment


- Understanding of customer relationship management and performance management tools.


- Strong business accumen


- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations


- Strong problem-solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses


- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and resultsorientation


KEY INTERFACES:


Internal: Managing Director, Regional Sales Directors, HR, Finance & Operation, Education, other coordinating departments


External: School and trade customers, School Principals and teachers


DIMENSIONS:


- Based in OUP India office in Noida.


- Regular travel required to regions
