Role Overview:
We are a fast-growing Media Barter Organization working with leading FMCG, retail, and lifestyle brands across OOH, Print, Magazines, Television, Cinema, Radio, Digital & DOOH. We are seeking a strategic yet execution-focused Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee end-to-end operations, strengthen process controls, manage vendor ecosystems, and ensure profitable, compliant, and scalable delivery of barter based media campaigns.
The ideal candidate must have deep media operations experience, strong Excel & MIS control, and the ability to translate business strategy into on-ground execution.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operations & Execution:
- Oversee end-to-end media operations across offline & online platforms
- Ensure timely execution, delivery, and closure of all barter media campaigns
- Create SOPs for planning, release, billing, proofs, and post-campaign reporting
- Monitor campaign utilization vs committed barter value
2. Media Planning & Vendor Management
- Supervise media planning teams across OOH, Print, TV, Cinema, Radio & Digital
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media owners, publishers, broadcasters, and DOOH partners
- Lead negotiations on rates, inventory, timelines, and added value
- Approve media plans, releases, and vendor allocations
3. Barter Control & Financial Oversight
- Ensure strict barter value mapping (stock received vs media delivered)
- Oversee MIS, utilization trackers, ageing, and reconciliation
- Work closely with Accounts to ensure compliance, documentation, and audits
- Control leakages, over-delivery, and inventory mismatches
4. Process, MIS & Excel Control
- Implement robust Excel-driven MIS systems for media planning, execution, and reconciliation
- Track campaign KPIs, vendor performance, margins, and operational efficiency
- Review daily / weekly / monthly operational dashboards
- Drive automation and system improvements wherever possible
5. Team Leadership & Performance
- Lead and mentor operations, planning, and vendor management teams
- Define KPIs, targets, and accountability structures
- Conduct regular performance reviews and training sessions
- Build a strong execution-oriented culture
6. Cross-Functional & Strategic Support
- Work closely with Sales, Business Development, Accounts, and Legal teams
- Support founders in scaling operations, entering new markets, and onboarding large clients
- Assist in structuring complex barter deals and long-term partnerships
- Act as a key decision-maker in operational and vendor matters
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Proven experience in media agency operations / barter media / large-scale media planning
- Strong understanding of offline & online media ecosystems
- Excellent command over Excel, MIS, and operational dashboards
- Vendor negotiation and stakeholder management expertise
- Strong process orientation and attention to detail
- Leadership mindset with hands-on execution capability
Preferred Candidate Profile:
- Prior experience in a media barter organization or high-volume media agency
- Exposure to Pan-India media operations
- Ability to manage pressure, complexity, and multiple stakeholders
