Role Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Area Sales Manager - Life Insurance to lead and expand our sales operations in the Pune region. This is a strategic leadership role that involves driving regional sales performance, managing and mentoring sales teams, implementing business development strategies, and ensuring exceptional client service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Leadership: Own and deliver regional sales targets for life insurance via the direct channel.
- Team Management: Recruit, train, lead, and motivate a team of sales managers and front-line sales executives.
- Performance Monitoring: Track KPIs, sales performance, and productivity metrics; take corrective actions as needed.
- Strategy Execution: Develop and implement local sales strategies aligned with company objectives and market trends.
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities and untapped customer segments.
- Customer Engagement: Foster long-term relationships with clients by ensuring service quality, policy renewal, and post-sales support.
- Reporting: Prepare and present weekly/monthly performance dashboards and market intelligence reports to senior management.
- Compliance & Quality: Ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines and internal process standards across the team.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 5-8 years of proven sales experience in life insurance (preferably in the direct channel).
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire high-performing teams.
- Deep understanding of insurance sales processes, customer lifecycle management, and local market dynamics.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Strong analytical mindset with proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to execution.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related discipline. MBA is a plus.
