Position Title: General Manager - Business Finance | Department: Finance | Grade: 4B | Location: Mumbai, Chennai or Hyderabad.
Role Overview
Omega Healthcare is seeking a hands-on, analytically strong General Manager - Business Finance to own financial planning, performance tracking, and margin management for an assigned business unit/vertical. This role will work closely with Operations, Delivery, and Sales leaders to translate day-to-day business performance into clear financial insight and will report directly to the AVP - Business Finance.
The ideal candidate has solid RCM/healthcare finance exposure, is comfortable owning numbers end-to-end, and can operate independently while escalating the right issues at the right time.
Key Responsibilities
Business Finance Partnership
- Serve as the primary finance point of contact for assigned business unit(s)/vertical(s), supporting Operations and Delivery leaders on day-to-day financial matters.
- Provide financial input into pricing decisions, client profitability discussions, and operational planning within the assigned scope.
- Track sales pipeline opportunities and monitor conversion of pipeline to actual revenue, working with Sales and Operations teams using Oracle and Salesforce.
- Flag risks and opportunities to the AVP with supporting analysis.
Planning, Forecasting & Reporting
- Own annual budgeting and monthly forecasting for the assigned business unit(s).
- Lead monthly business performance reviews, including variance analysis against budget and forecast.
- Prepare and deliver accurate, timely MIS and management reporting.
Margin & Productivity Management
- Track and analyze key RCM business metrics including:
1. Revenue per FTE
2. Productivity and Utilization
3. Gross and EBITDA Margins
4. Collection Effectiveness
5. Denial Trends
6. Client-Level Profitability
7. Cost-to-Serve Metrics
- Identify and drive cost optimization and margin improvement opportunities within the assigned scope.
- Work with Delivery leadership to monitor productivity and utilization trends.
Analytics & Dashboards
- Maintain and improve dashboards combining financial and operational metrics for the business unit.
- Support ad hoc financial analysis and business cases as needed by the AVP or business leaders.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a small-to-mid-sized finance team supporting the assigned business unit(s).
- Build a culture of accuracy, accountability, and timely delivery within the team.
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure financial controls and reporting standards are followed within the assigned unit(s).
- Support internal and external audit requirements as needed.
Education & Experience
- MBA, CA, CMA, or equivalent finance qualification.
- 12 - 15 years of progressive finance experience, including experience in FP&A or business finance roles.
- Experience in healthcare services, RCM, BPM/BPO, or healthcare technology organizations preferred.
- Prior experience of partnering with Operations, Delivery, and Sales teams on business performance.
- Experience managing a small team is preferred.
Critical Competencies
- Analytical Rigor: Strong financial modeling, variance analysis, and reporting skills.
- Business Partnering: Comfortable working closely with non-finance stakeholders.
- Systems Proficiency: Working knowledge of Oracle and Salesforce; ability to reconcile pipeline data with financial forecasts.
- Ownership: Able to independently manage the numbers for an assigned unit, with sound judgment on when to escalate.
- Communication: Clear and concise reporting to senior stakeholders.
- Team Leadership: Ability to guide and develop a small team.
Success Measures
- Accuracy and timeliness of forecasts and MIS for the assigned business unit.
- Improvement in margin and productivity metrics within scope.
- Quality and usefulness of financial insight provided to Operations, Delivery, and Sales leadership.
- Effective tracking of sales pipeline conversion to revenue.
- Effective team management and development.
