Role Overview

We are looking for a highly driven and hands-on Head of Finance & Compliance to lead finance operations, compliance, business finance, controls, and strategic financial planning. This role requires someone who can operate both strategically and executionally - building systems while remaining close to day-to-day operations.

You will work closely with founders and leadership to ensure financial discipline, scalability, compliance, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities :

Financial Strategy & Business Finance :

- Own company-wide financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management

- Drive financial decision-making through business insights, unit economics, and performance analysis

- Build financial models to support growth initiatives, expansion plans, and strategic decisions

- Partner with leadership on profitability, pricing, and cost optimization

Accounting & Finance Operations :

- Own accounting processes, monthly closures, financial reporting, and reconciliations

- Ensure accurate preparation of MIS reports and management dashboards

- Oversee AP, AR, payroll coordination, treasury management, and vendor payments

- Build scalable finance systems and processes

Compliance & Governance :

- Ensure timely compliance across statutory, tax, corporate, and regulatory requirements

- Oversee GST, TDS, income tax, audits, ROC filings, and financial controls

- Manage relationships with auditors, consultants, banks, and external stakeholders

- Create strong internal controls and governance mechanisms

Fundraising & Investor Management :

- Support fundraising processes, due diligence, and financial documentation

- Own investor reporting and board-level financial reporting

- Assist leadership with strategic financial planning and capital allocation

Team Leadership :

- Build and manage finance and compliance functions as the company scales

- Drive ownership, accountability, and process excellence within the team

What We're Looking For :

- CA / MBA Finance / Equivalent qualification preferred

- 8-15 years of experience in finance, accounting, compliance, or business finance

- Experience working in startups, high-growth companies, or consumer/education businesses preferred

- Strong understanding of accounting, taxation, compliance, and financial controls

- Ability to build systems from scratch and thrive in ambiguous environments

- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

- Comfortable balancing strategy with execution
