Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Sales Director (12+ years) to lead the global sales function, focusing on strategic expansion and sustainable revenue growth. The ideal candidate will align sales strategy with core business objectives, leveraging market insights to achieve strict revenue, margin, and market share targets. Key responsibilities include enhancing forecasting accuracy, optimizing sales processes using CRM and analytics, strengthening relationships with strategic accounts for retention, and ensuring strict risk and compliance adherence across all contracting standards.
Key Responsibilities and Executive Leadership Deliverables
Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth:
- Drive sales strategy aligned with business goals, defining clear paths to market penetration and revenue acceleration.
- Achieve stringent revenue, margin, and market share targets across all designated markets and segments.
- Leverage market insights and competitive intelligence to proactively identify and execute growth opportunities and strengthen competitive positioning.
Market Expansion & Business Development:
- Lead expansion into new geographical markets, customer segments, and strategic partnerships that offer scalable, long-term growth.
- Lead high-impact opportunities for cross-sell/upsell within the existing customer base, maximizing Customer Lifetime Value (CLV).
Sales Governance & Process Excellence:
- Enhance forecasting accuracy, pipeline health, and sales governance through rigorous inspection and standardized reporting.
- Optimize sales processes, tools (CRM), and methodologies for higher team productivity and reduced cycle times.
- Use CRM and advanced analytics to enable data-driven decision-making across all sales activities, from lead generation to deal closure.
Leadership & Sales Team Development:
- Build and lead a high-performing, accountable sales team capable of consistently exceeding targets.
- Implement structured coaching, training, and talent development programs to upskill personnel and manage the sales talent pipeline.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and intense customer focus throughout the sales organization.
Key Account & Customer Relationship Management:
- Strengthen relationships with strategic accounts and executive sponsors to ensure loyalty and long-term partnership.
- Drive retention, renewals, and account expansion by collaborating closely with customer success and operations teams to ensure high post-sale satisfaction.
Cross-Functional Alignment & Influence:
- Collaborate formally with marketing, product, finance, and operations on integrated go-to-market strategies, campaign execution, and service delivery.
- Influence product and pricing decisions by providing actionable feedback based on validated customer needs and emerging market trends.
Risk Management & Reporting:
- Manage sales risks and ensure strict adherence to pricing, contracting, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Provide accurate, timely revenue forecasts and performance insights using advanced analytical models.
- Present strategic recommendations and performance results effectively during executive communication and board-level presentations.
Mandatory Skills & Qualifications:
Experience: 12+ years of progressive experience, with significant time spent in a Sales Director or VP-level role.
Strategy: Proven ability to Drive sales strategy aligned with business goals and achieve stringent revenue, margin, and market share targets.
Governance: Expertise in Enhancing forecasting accuracy, pipeline health, and sales governance using CRM and analytics.
Leadership: Demonstrated ability to Build and lead a high-performing sales team and manage Key Account & Customer Relationship Management.
Compliance: Mandatory understanding of Managing sales risks and ensuring adherence to compliance standards.
Preferred Skills
- Master of Business Administration (MBA).
- Certification in a recognized sales methodology (e.g., Challenger Sale, SPIN Selling).
- Experience leading global or multi-regional sales organizations.
- Strong technical understanding of the product/service sector relevant to the company.
