Job Summary

Netradyne, a global leader in driver safety technology combining AI with edge computing for the transportation industry, is seeking a determined and self-motivated Senior Legal Counsel to join our team in Bangalore, India. This pivotal role will provide comprehensive, daily legal support to Netradyne's operations globally, with a specific focus on the Bangalore team. You will serve as a key resource, actively managing legal risk, ensuring compliance across multiple jurisdictions (including local and EU commercial laws), and negotiating critical contracts and handling complex litigation matters.

Key Responsibilities

Global Legal Risk and Compliance Management:

- Serve as a key resource providing effective daily legal support to minimize legal risk and ensure strict compliance with local, national, and EU commercial laws and regulations.

- Proactively support the company in preventing, detecting, and responding to legal risks across all global business operations.

- Monitor, identify, interpret, and communicate changes in the law that could potentially affect business operations or strategy.

Commercial Contracts and Negotiation:

- Lead and conduct negotiations on legal terms in a wide variety of commercial contracts and vendor agreements.

- Provide legal counselling and support for areas including litigation, sanctions, and employment issues.

Corporate Governance and Expansion:

- Assist in identifying legal issues and crafting necessary policies and processes to support Netradynes global expansion into new markets in Europe and Asia.

- Assist with internal controls and compliance program enhancements.

- Participate in complex regional and corporate assignments/projects.

Internal Collaboration and Training:

- Collaborate closely with lawyers in the US to ensure consistent legal advice globally and the effective use of all legal resources.

- Develop and conduct tailored legal training programs for employees based on identified organizational needs.

- Work with in-house counsel on internal investigations or government inquiries when needed.

- Support the implementation of the overall legal strategy, including projects related to AI technology and advocacy activities.

Mentorship:

- Mentor and guide more junior in-house legal professionals, fostering a strong legal team environment.

Qualifications

Experience: Significant professional experience as a Legal Counsel in an in-house corporate legal department or a top-tier law firm, focusing on commercial law and compliance.

Expertise: Strong expertise in legal counselling on compliance, employment, and competition matters.

Global Law: Proven knowledge of commercial laws and regulations in India and significant exposure to, or direct experience with, EU commercial laws and regulations.

Contract Negotiation: Extensive experience in negotiating legal terms for complex commercial and vendor contracts.

Soft Skills: Must be determined, self-motivated, and possess excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills for collaboration across international teams.

Preferred Skills: Experience supporting technology or SaaS companies, particularly those dealing with AI, data privacy, or transportation technology.
