Location: HSR Layout, Bengaluru. Job Type: Full-Time | On-Site.

About the Role:

Nestaway is hiring a Legal Counsel to support its city-level operations in Bengaluru. This role will work closely with sales, operations, HR, and finance teams, while coordinating with the central legal department.

We're looking for a candidate who is fluent in Kannada (read, write, speak) and can independently manage legal responsibilities on-ground. If youre a proactive legal professional with a passion for real estate and compliance, this is your chance to grow within a dynamic startup environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Act as the legal point of contact for Nestaways commercial team in Bengaluru.

- Advise internal teams on legal risks and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

- Handle civil/criminal litigation, cheque bounce cases, arbitration, and other legal disputes in coordination with external counsel.

- Provide legal support to the citys sales, operations, HR, and finance functions.

- Occasionally manage contract drafting, vetting, and review.

- Liaise with the central legal team to escalate issues and ensure timely resolutions.

- Conduct legal and compliance training sessions for local teams.

- Report to the Associate Director Legal.

Requirements:

- Bachelors degree in Law (LLB/LLM).

- Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar legal counsel role.

- Strong understanding of civil and criminal procedures.

- Prior exposure to real estate, rental, or commercial legal matters is a plus.

- Fluent in Kannada (reading, writing, and speaking is mandatory).

- Must be based in Bangalore or willing to relocate.

- Comfortable working on-site from our HSR Layout office.
