National Legal Manager- Recovery/Collections for a Housing Finance Company
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead the legal department in managing and overseeing all legal aspects related to housing finance, including loan documentation, recovery processes
- Expertise in handling legal proceedings under SARFAESI, including initiating and managing recovery actions and enforcement of security interests.
- Provide legal counsel and support on civil and criminal matters impacting the business, ensuring that all actions are legally sound and in line with company policies.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and mitigate legal risks.
- Manage, supervise, and guide the legal team in handling litigations, disputes, and legal notices, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant housing finance regulations, statutes, and internal policies.
- Actively work on process improvement initiatives within the legal department to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings, including appearing in courts, tribunals, and other regulatory bodies as necessary.
