Key Responsibilities:

1. Legal Advisory & Business Support

- Provide strategic legal advice to business teams on new products, initiatives, and operations.

- Partner with senior business leaders to structure transactions and develop compliant business models.

- Evaluate and mitigate legal risks in business operations and decision-making.

2. Contract Management

- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts including:

- Loan agreements

- Vendor contracts

- Channel partner and DSA agreements

- Technology & service contracts

- Ensure enforceability and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

3. Regulatory Compliance

- Ensure business operations comply with RBI regulations, NBFC guidelines, and other statutory laws (e.g., Contract Act, IT Act, Companies Act, Consumer Protection Act).

- Liaise with regulators and ensure timely submissions and disclosures.

4. Litigation Management

- Oversee and coordinate with external legal counsel for business-related litigation and recovery proceedings.

- Support the collections/legal recovery teams with legal opinions and enforcement strategies.

5. Policy & Process Development

- Develop and implement legal policies, SOPs, and risk controls for the legal function across regions.

- Conduct legal audits of documentation and processes to ensure compliance.

6. Stakeholder Management

- Work closely with internal teams - Sales, Credit, Risk, Compliance, Collections, and Operations - to provide timely and solution-oriented legal support.

- Manage external counsel and legal vendors.

Key Skills & Competencies:

- Strong knowledge of NBFC regulations and financial services laws.

- Expertise in contract drafting and negotiation.

- High integrity and strong business acumen.

- Ability to handle multiple stakeholders and projects in a fast-paced environment.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Education: LLB/LLM from a reputed law school or university.

- Experience: 10-15 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a similar role within an NBFC, bank, or financial services company.
