The Head of Medical Operations is responsible for overseeing the clinical operations, quality of care, and compliance with medical standards within the organization. This leadership role involves guiding medical staff, ensuring evidence-based practice, collaborating across departments, and maintaining regulatory and ethical standards in all patient care and clinical decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership :
- Provide medical oversight and direction for clinical programs and services.
- Ensure that clinical practices adhere to established guidelines, evidence-based practices, and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop treatment protocols and patient care policies. Strategic and Administrative:
- Develop and implement clinical strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Participate in planning, budgeting, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Evaluate medical staff performance and support recruitment, retention, and professional development.
- Review and approve clinical policies and procedures. Regulatory & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with state, and local healthcare regulations and accreditation standards (e.g., NABH).
- Lead internal audits and quality assurance processes.
Quality & Patient Safety:
- Promote a culture of safety and continuous quality improvement.
- Monitor clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and adverse events to guide improvements. Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Serve as a liaison between the medical team and executive leadership.
- Communicate effectively with external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, partners, and patients.
