Mechanical Head

Job Purpose:

Mechanical Head to lead the mechanical design, development, and manufacturing of our mobile robotics solutions. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in mechanical system design, BOM (Bill of Materials) management, prototyping, and manufacturing processes. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful development of cutting-edge robotic systems.

Role Expectations:

1. Mechanical Design & Development:

- Lead the mechanical design and development of mobile robotic systems.

- Oversee structural analysis, material selection, and component integration.

- Ensure optimal weight, durability, and efficiency in mechanical systems.

2. BOM (Bill of Materials) Management:

- Develop and manage detailed BOMs for all mechanical components.

- Optimize cost-effective sourcing of mechanical parts.

- Ensure proper revision control and documentation for BOM.

3. Prototyping & Manufacturing:

- Supervise the prototyping of mechanical components.

- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors for fabrication and assembly.

- Implement DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles.

4. Testing & Quality Assurance:

- Conduct mechanical testing, stress analysis, and reliability testing.

- Work closely with the quality team to ensure compliance with industry standards.

5. Team Leadership & Collaboration:

- Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers and designers.

- Collaborate with electrical, software, and robotics teams for seamless integration.

- Ensure projects are delivered on time, meeting all technical and quality standards.

Reporting structure: Role will report into Vice President

Interactions:

Internal Stakeholders: Collaborate with other departments, including sales, marketing, and engineering, to achieve business objectives.
External Stakeholders:Customers/Clients

II. PEOPLE SPECIFICATIONS

Profile:

- Education: B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
Experience:

- 10+ years in mechanical design, robotics, automation, or related industries.

- Strong experience in BOM management, CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD, etc.).

- Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and structural analysis.

- Experience with motion systems, actuators, and chassis design.

Technical Skills:

- Proficiency in 3D modeling, simulations, and FEA analysis.

- Hands-on experience with prototyping, SPM machining, and additive manufacturing.

- Understanding of robotic kinematics, dynamics, and thermal analysis.
