Manager/Assistant Vice President - Compliance Model Validation - Surveillance & Financial Crime Models

Hiring: Compliance Model Validation - Surveillance & Financial Crime Models

Location: Powai, Mumbai

Experience: 6-8 years (Manager), 8-12 years (AVP)

We are hiring for a Compliance Model Validation professional to join a high-impact team responsible for independent validation, governance, and oversight of surveillance and financial crime models.

This role is ideal for professionals currently working in Model Risk Management, Compliance Analytics, or Financial Crime Model Validation within investment banks.

Mandatory Skills:

- Strong quantitative background with expertise in Probability, Statistics, Regression (including Logistic Regression), and Machine Learning

- Hands-on experience in model validation or model development

- Experience validating Compliance / Financial Crime / Trade Surveillance models

- Proficiency in Python and SQL

- Strong understanding of AML, MAR, MiFID II, and related regulatory frameworks

- Experience with surveillance platforms such as Actimize, SMARTS, or similar systems

- Demonstrated ability to independently challenge, validate, document, and govern models

- Experience conducting backtesting, performance testing, threshold calibration, and model performance assessment

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform independent validation of surveillance and financial crime models

- Assess model design, assumptions, methodology, and implementation

- Conduct statistical testing and performance evaluation

- Identify model limitations and recommend remediation actions

- Prepare detailed validation reports and documentation

- Ensure compliance with internal governance and regulatory expectations

Educational Qualifications:

- Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or related quantitative discipline

- FRM, CFA, or equivalent certifications preferred
