Manager Safety (Factory / Industrial Projects)

Location: Jamnagar.

Reports to: Plant Head / EHS Head.

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly experienced Sr. Manager - Safety to lead and implement workplace safety programs for a large-scale industrial/factory project. The role requires strong knowledge of occupational health & safety, statutory compliance, risk management, and implementation of industry best practices to ensure a safe working environment. The Sr. Manager will play a critical role in building a proactive safety culture and driving continuous improvement in EHS performance.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies, procedures, and systems aligned with statutory requirements and international standards.

- Conduct risk assessments, HAZOP, HIRA, and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for critical industrial activities.

- Oversee safety planning and execution during construction, commissioning, and operational phases of the factory project.

- Ensure compliance with local laws, Factory Act, OSHA, ISO 45001, and environmental regulations.

- Lead incident/accident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.

- Conduct safety audits, inspections, and toolbox talks to drive awareness across the workforce.

- Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees, contractors, and supervisors.

- Coordinate with project management, engineering, and operations teams to integrate safety into all activities.

- Prepare and maintain statutory reports, safety documentation, and compliance records.

- Foster a culture of zero harm and continuous safety improvement at the workplace.

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelors degree in Engineering / Industrial Safety / Environmental Science.

- Diploma in Industrial Safety from a recognized institute (mandatory).

- Minimum 12-15 years of safety experience in industrial projects, factories, or manufacturing plants.

- In-depth knowledge of EHS laws, Factory Act, and global HSE standards.

- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to influence and drive safety culture across all levels.

- Experience in handling large workforces, contractors, and multi-stakeholder environments.

- Excellent communication, reporting, and training delivery skills.
