Plant Manager LLDPE POLYBAGS, PP BOX STRAPPING, REPROCESS GRANULES MANUFACTURING UNIT

Department: Production / Operations

Job Purpose:

To oversee and manage the daily operations of LLDPE bags, PP box strapping, and the Reprocess granules manufacturing plant, ensuring efficient production, high product quality, optimal resource utilization, and compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The Plant Manager will lead the production, maintenance, quality control, and manpower management functions to achieve organizational targets.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Management

- Plan, organize, and control the production process to achieve daily and monthly targets.

- Ensure the continuous operation of extrusion, printing, cutting, and sealing machines.

- Monitor production efficiency, waste levels, and output quality.

- Coordinate with planning and sales teams for production scheduling and dispatch timelines.

2. Maintenance and Equipment

- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of all plant machinery (extruders, printing, cutting, sealing, etc.).

- Ensure minimum downtime through proper maintenance planning.

- Coordinate with the maintenance team and vendors for equipment service and spare parts management.

3. Quality Control

- Implement and monitor quality control systems at all stages of production.

- Ensure compliance with company quality standards and customer specifications.

- Take corrective actions on quality deviations and implement process improvements.

4. Manpower Management

- Supervise and lead a team of operators, supervisors, and support staff.

- Manage shift schedules and manpower allocation.

- Ensure training and skill development of production staff.

- Promote teamwork and maintain discipline within the plant.

5. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)

- Enforce safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.

6. Inventory and Cost Control

- Monitor raw material, semi-finished, and finished goods inventory.

- Control wastage and optimize material usage.Identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.

7. Reporting and Documentation

- Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.

- Maintain records of production, maintenance, and manpower.

- Report key performance indicators (KPIs) to management.

- Production volume vs. target

- Rejection and wastage rate

- On-time delivery performance

- Safety and compliance metrics

Qualifications & Experience:

Education: Diploma / B. Tech / B.E. in Mechanical, Plastic Technology, or Production Engineering.

Experience: Minimum 8-12 years in plastic extrusion/film blowing / bag manufacturing industry.

Preferred Experience: Exposure to LLDPE Polybag production, extrusion, and printing operations.

Skills & Competencies:

- Strong leadership and team management skills.

- Excellent knowledge of plastic processing and extrusion machinery.

- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP-based production tracking systems.
