
Qualifications:
MBA in HR / Finance or equivalent.
Additional certification in Payroll Management / Labour Laws preferred.
Experience & Knowledge:
- 10 - 12 years of experience in payroll management, statutory compliance, and HR operations in manufacturing sector.
- Strong understanding of payroll software (ERP / HRMS).
- In-depth knowledge of taxation, labour laws, wage laws, and statutory filings.
- Experience in managing contract labor compliance in a manufacturing environment.
Job Overview:
This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of payroll administration and ensuring stringent compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements across the organization. The role involves managing the entire payroll process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, and implementing robust compliance frameworks. This position will also support internal and external audits, manage employee benefits administration, and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in payroll and compliance functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Management:
- Oversee the end-to-end monthly payroll processing for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage salary inputs, including attendance, leave, new hires, separations, and other variable pay components.
- Handle the full and final settlement process for exiting employees in a timely manner.
- Ensure accurate calculation and deduction of taxes (TDS) and other statutory contributions.
- Generate and distribute payslips and address employee queries regarding salary, deductions, and taxes.
Statutory Compliance:
- Ensure 100% compliance with all applicable labor laws, including but not limited to Provident Fund (PF), Employee State Insurance (ESI), Professional Tax (PT), Gratuity, and Bonus Act.
- Manage the timely deposit of all statutory payments and the filing of all necessary returns.
- Liaise with government authorities and statutory bodies as required.
- Stay updated with amendments in labor laws and ensure necessary changes are implemented in the system.
HR Systems & MIS:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee master data in the HRIS/ERP system.
- Generate monthly payroll and compliance-related MIS and dashboards for management review.
- Drive the automation of payroll processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Ensure seamless integration of payroll data with finance and other HR systems.
Audit & Governance:
- Prepare for and manage internal and external audits related to payroll and statutory compliance.
- Ensure all payroll-related documentation is maintained in an organized and audit-ready manner.
- Implement and enforce internal controls to prevent payroll errors and fraud.
Employee Benefits Administration:
- Administer employee benefits programs such as medical insurance, gratuity, and superannuation.
- Coordinate with insurance providers and other vendors for timely renewals and claim processing.
- Educate employees about the various benefits and assist them with related queries.
