Manager - Legal - Shipping & Trading - LLB

Role Overview

- We are seeking an experienced Manager Legal (Shipping & Trading) to provide legal and contractual support for shipping and trading operations across multiple regions.

- The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in shipping law, commercial trading agreements, charterparty contracts, and regulatory compliance, along with the ability to mitigate legal and commercial risks in global trading operations.

Key Responsibilities :

- Provide end-to-end legal support to shipping and trading business operations

- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage:

- SCoTA agreements

- Charterparty agreements

- Commercial shipping contracts

- Trading and logistics-related agreements

- Advise internal stakeholders on legal, contractual, and compliance matters related to shipping and trading activities

- Identify legal and commercial risks and recommend mitigation strategies

- Ensure compliance with applicable shipping, maritime, trade, and commercial regulations across regions

- Support dispute resolution, claims management, and contract interpretation matters

- Collaborate with business, operations, finance, and external legal teams to support commercial transactions

- Monitor changes in shipping and trading regulations and assess business impact

- Maintain contract governance standards and ensure proper documentation and record management

- Support internal audits, compliance reviews, and regulatory reporting requirements

Required Skills & Experience :

- LL.B from a recognized university

6-10 years of post-qualification experience in :

- Shipping law

- Trading and commercial contracts

- Maritime legal advisory

- Strong hands-on experience with:

- SCoTA agreements

- Charterparty agreements

- Commercial shipping contracts

Good understanding of:

- Shipping and maritime regulations

- International trade practices

- Commercial risk management

- Contract negotiation and dispute handling

- Experience supporting shipping and trading business operations across regions

- Strong analytical, drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills

- Ability to work in a fast-paced and commercially driven environment
