About the role: We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Manager to support our growing business by managing day-to-day legal operations, contracts, and compliance matters. This role requires a commercially savvy legal professional with a strong grasp of corporate and regulatory law, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Contract Drafting & Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements, including MSAs, SaaS contracts, vendor agreements, NDAs, and other business-related documents. Collaborate with business and sales teams to facilitate quick contract closures while effectively mitigating legal risks.
- Legal Counsel & Risk Management: Provide clear, business-focused legal advice on operational matters, regulatory requirements, and internal policy adherence. Support internal teams by identifying potential legal risks and proposing actionable recommendations.
- Regulatory Compliance & Monitoring: Stay current on all relevant legal and regulatory changes that impact the organization (particularly in fintech, telecom, data protection, and employment laws). Assist in interpreting new regulations and updating internal policies and procedures as needed.
- Policy & Documentation Support: Help with the creation, review, and governance of internal legal and compliance policies. Maintain organized documentation and version control for legal templates, SOPs, and process manuals.
- Contract Management: Oversee the contract repository to ensure timely renewals, track obligations, and maintain meticulous records. Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure seamless contract execution and finalization.
- Legal Coordination: Act as the liaison for external counsel on specific matters like litigation, intellectual property, or specialized compliance topics. Support internal legal audits, investigations, and other compliance initiatives.
Requirements:
- A law degree with 5 - 8 years of experience in corporate law, preferably with a background in SaaS, BPO, or data-centric businesses.
- A solid understanding of Indian contract law, labor law, and IT/DPDP compliance.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to align legal guidance with business strategy.
- Proven experience in managing external legal counsel.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and advise senior stakeholders.
