Key Responsibilities and Legal Compliance Deliverables:
Contract Lifecycle Management & Risk Mitigation:
- Manage end-to-end contract lifecycle, including drafting, vetting, negotiating, and execution of agreements with external stakeholders, strictly adhering to defined Turn Around Times (TATs).
- Highlight and mitigate legal risks prominently in vendor agreements; coordinate efficiently with internal stakeholders for necessary deviation approvals.
- Monitor contract renewals and execute them promptly to prevent operational disruptions.
- Continuously enhance drafting standards, emphasizing clarity, commercial detailing, and robust risk mitigation clauses.
- Maintain organized legal databases and contract repositories for easy retrieval, audit preparedness, and compliance tracking.
Process Governance and Tool Adoption:
- Ensure compliance with SOPs for all stages of agreement closures (vendor, NDA, brand onboardings, vendor transition, and brand discontinuation).
- Periodically review and update standard templates as well as SOPs to accurately reflect evolving legal and core business requirements.
- Ensure complete usage of the contract management system for agreement workflows and provide [ necessary training to business teams on system usage and processes.
Litigation Support and Advisory:
- Support in recovery disputes, responding to legal notices, and managing ongoing litigation or claims related to vendor and business relationships.
- Provide proactive, commercially pragmatic legal advice for new business initiatives, projects, collaborations, and product launches.
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to strengthen contract negotiations and legal advisories.
Knowledge Management and Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Stay abreast of legal developments, regulatory changes, and judicial pronouncements relevant to the e-commerce and beauty industry.
- Foster strong collaboration within the legal team and cross-functionally with business stakeholders using strong communication skills.
- Actively participate in learning programs for continuous professional development.
Mandatory Skills & Qualifications:
Education: LLB/LLM from a reputed law school.
Experience: 4+ years of post-qualification experience in an in-house legal role, preferably within e-commerce, retail, or service industry.
Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in contract lifecycle management, negotiation, and legal risk assessment.
Attributes: Self-starter with a problem-solving mindset, strong stakeholder management and communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Exposure to recovery matters (disputes, claims, litigation).
- Familiarity with contract management tools (usage and administration).
- Good presentation skills for training and stakeholder communication.
