Legal & Strategy Associate (Legal, Compliance & Regulatory)

About the Role:

We are looking for a Legal & Strategy Associate with strong experience in regulatory compliance and strategic legal advisory within the FinTech or BFSI ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing compliance projects and working with regulatory frameworks governed by the RBI, SEBI, and/or IFSCA.

This role requires someone who can work across legal, compliance, and business functions, navigate evolving regulatory requirements, and partner with multiple stakeholders to support business growth while ensuring regulatory adherence.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and execute regulatory compliance projects across business functions.

- Interpret and advise on laws, regulations, and circulars issued by RBI, SEBI, and IFSCA.

- Support applications, renewals, and ongoing compliance relating to regulatory licenses and approvals.

- Partner with business, product, operations, risk, and leadership teams to provide practical legal and strategic guidance.

- Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on business operations.

- Develop, review, and implement internal compliance frameworks, policies, SOPs, and governance processes.

- Coordinate with external counsel, regulators, and industry bodies whenever required.

- Assist in legal strategy, regulatory engagement, and public policy initiatives relevant to the business.

- Identify compliance risks and recommend pragmatic, business-friendly solutions.

Qualifications:

- LL.B. or Company Secretary (CS); postgraduate qualification preferred.

- 3+ years of relevant experience in Legal, Compliance, Legal Strategy, or Public Policy.

- Mandatory experience in the FinTech or BFSI sector.

- Demonstrated experience working on regulatory licenses and compliance matters involving RBI, SEBI, and/or IFSCA.

- Strong understanding of the Indian financial services regulatory landscape.
