Job Title - Manager - Human Resources (HR Business Partner - Sales)

Location - Mumbai

Company - Coating Manufacturer

Reporting To - Head - HR (Sales & Corporate Functions)

Sales workforce + 1-2 corporate functions

Total headcount: ~300 employees

Mix of field sales, regional sales teams, and support roles

Role Purpose:

The Manager - HR (HRBP) will act as a strategic and operational HR partner to Sales leadership, enabling business performance through effective talent management, employee engagement, compliance, and workforce planning. The role requires strong exposure to sales HR dynamics, high stakeholder interaction, and hands-on execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic HR Business Partnering:

- Partner with Sales Leaders to align HR strategy with business objectives and revenue goals

- Act as a trusted advisor on organization design, workforce planning, and capability building

- Translate business requirements into people strategies and HR interventions

Talent Management & Workforce Planning:

- Drive manpower planning, hiring prioritization, and onboarding for sales and support roles

- Partner with Talent Acquisition teams to ensure timely and quality hiring

- Support succession planning and internal mobility for key sales roles

Performance Management:

- Drive goal setting, mid-year and annual performance cycles for sales teams

- Coach managers on performance differentiation, feedback, and corrective actions

- Support sales incentive governance in collaboration with Rewards / C&B teams

Employee Relations & Engagement:

- Handle employee relations matters including grievances, disciplinary actions, and exits

- Ensure consistent application of HR policies across regions and sales teams

- Drive engagement initiatives to improve retention, morale, and productivity

Learning & Capability Building:

- Identify capability gaps in sales and leadership teams

- Partner with L&D to roll out training programs (sales effectiveness, leadership, compliance)

- Support leadership development initiatives for frontline and mid-level managers

HR Operations & Compliance:

- Ensure adherence to labor laws, statutory compliance, and internal HR policies

- Support audits and ensure documentation and process discipline

- Manage HR MIS, analytics, and dashboards for leadership reporting

Stakeholder Management:

- Sales Heads, Regional Sales Managers, and Functional Leaders

- Talent Acquisition, Rewards, L&D, HR Operations teams

- Employees across field and corporate roles

Candidate Profile:

- Education - MBA / PGDM in HR from a Tier-1 institute

- Experience - 5-8 years of post-MBA experience

- Mandatory exposure to Sales HR / Business HR roles

- Experience in FMCG, Manufacturing, Chemicals, Consumer Products, or similar matrix organizations preferred

Key Skills & Competencies:

- Strong understanding of sales organization structures and field-force dynamics

- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills

- Hands-on experience across HRBP lifecycle (hire to retire)

- Data-driven mindset with ability to use HR metrics for decision-making

- High ownership, execution orientation, and problem-solving ability
