- The Legal Head - State and Legal Manager position based in Chennai is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing all legal matters within the state's operations. This role involves providing strategic legal advice to senior management, managing litigation, ensuring regulatory compliance, and handling contract management.

- The Legal Head will collaborate closely with internal teams, external legal counsel, and regulatory bodies to protect the company's interests and ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations. This role directly impacts the company's ability to operate efficiently and mitigate legal risks within the state.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide strategic legal advice to senior management on all legal matters pertaining to the company's operations within the state, ensuring informed decision-making and risk mitigation.

- Manage all litigation matters within the state, representing the company's interests effectively and minimizing potential liabilities.

- Develop and implement compliance programs to ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations, safeguarding the company's reputation and avoiding penalties.

- Oversee contract management processes, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, to protect the company's interests and ensure favorable terms.

- Monitor changes in legislation and regulations, advising the company on potential impacts and necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.

- Manage and mentor a team of legal professionals, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring the delivery of quality legal services.

- Liaise with external legal counsel and regulatory bodies, building strong relationships and representing the company's interests effectively.

- Conduct legal training programs for employees to enhance their understanding of legal and compliance requirements, promoting a culture of compliance throughout the organization.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in litigation management, contract law, and regulatory compliance.

- Proven ability to provide strategic legal advice to senior management.

- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.

- Strong leadership and team management abilities.

- Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide practical solutions.

- In-depth knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.

- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university; Master's degree in Law (LLM) preferred.

- 12-20 years of relevant experience in legal roles, with a focus on litigation, compliance, and contract management.
