Job Title: Senior Manager -Legal
Location: Kolkata
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and result-oriented professional to lead the Legal Department as Senior Manager - Legal. The ideal candidate will bring 12-15 years of proven expertise across a wide spectrum of legal matters, including litigation, property-related cases, factory license registrations, Section 138 proceedings, intellectual property rights, corporate fraud investigations, and court trials. The incumbent will act as the legal custodian of the organization, ensuring compliance, safeguarding business interests, and providing strategic legal guidance to the management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee all legal functions of the organization, ensuring effective management of litigation and compliance.
- Handle and represent the company in property-related disputes, including land acquisition, ownership, and tenancy matters.
- Manage and facilitate factory license registrations and related regulatory requirements.
- Advise and act on matters concerning Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act and related litigation.
- Safeguard the company's interests in intellectual property-related cases, including trademarks, copyrights, and patents.
- Supervise and strategize on corporate fraud cases, including internal investigations and external litigations.
- Represent the company before courts, tribunals, and regulatory authorities, as required.
- Draft, review, and finalize contracts, agreements, and other legal documentation to protect the company's interests.
- Collaborate with senior management to provide proactive legal counsel in decision-making and risk mitigation.
- Ensure all statutory and regulatory compliances are adhered to across business operations.
- Build, mentor, and lead the in-house legal team to enhance capability and performance.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- LL.B./LL.M. from a recognized university with strong academic credentials.
- 12-15 years of hands-on experience in litigation, property laws, intellectual property, compliance, and corporate legal matters.
- Proven expertise in handling court trials, company fraud cases, and regulatory matters.
- Strong knowledge of Indian corporate and commercial laws.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work closely with senior stakeholders and external legal counsel.
