Legal Head/National Legal Manager - LLB/LLM

Role Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned Legal Head to spearhead our national legal operations based in Mumbai. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the primary architect of our legal strategy, overseeing complex contract management frameworks and ensuring robust corporate governance across all business verticals. You will work closely with the C-suite, board members, and cross-functional department heads to navigate regulatory landscapes and mitigate enterprise risk. By providing high-level legal counsel and fostering a culture of compliance, you will directly influence our long-term business sustainability and protect the organization's commercial interests in a competitive market.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the end-to-end contract management lifecycle to ensure all commercial agreements are legally sound and aligned with organizational risk appetite.

- Design and implement comprehensive governance frameworks to ensure the company remains compliant with evolving national regulations and industry standards.

- Advise senior leadership on complex legal matters, providing actionable insights that facilitate informed decision-making and strategic growth.

- Manage external counsel and legal agencies to optimize costs while ensuring high-quality representation in litigation and regulatory proceedings.

- Develop and mentor the internal legal team to build a high-performance culture focused on operational excellence and proactive risk management.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrate mastery in drafting, negotiating, and managing high-value commercial contracts across diverse business sectors.

- Exhibit a deep understanding of corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and secretarial practices to safeguard organizational integrity.

- Possess exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex legal jargon into clear, strategic advice for non-legal stakeholders.

- Showcase a proven ability to lead large, geographically dispersed teams and manage high-stakes negotiations with external partners.

- Hold a degree in Law (LL.B. or LL.M.) from a premier institution, complemented by a track record of navigating the fast-paced, on-site work environment of a Mumbai-based corporate headquarters.

- Display high levels of professional maturity and the ability to influence executive-level decision-making through data-driven legal analysis.
