The company has been recognized for its technological prowess and innovation on many platforms, with the HiLoad EV winning EV of the Year by the Apollo CV Awards.

We work towards building the best commercial EVs and a robust EV ecosystem to encourage faster EV adoption in India. Our product, HiLoad EV, leads the LCV segment with the highest load-carrying capacity of 688 kg and the greatest range of 170 km.

Our vehicles are being sold across companies like Flipkart, BigBasket, Havells, Udaan, and Magenta, among others. These companies have deployed our EVs across Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Lucknow, Chandigarh & more to transform and strengthen their first, mid & last-mile operations.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and strategic General Counsel to serve as the Chief Legal Officer. In this critical role, you will provide comprehensive legal guidance to support our operations, manage legal risks, and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

As a key member of the executive leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the companys strategic direction, managing complex transactions, and supporting our mission of sustainability and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Legal Strategy

- Develop and execute the companys legal strategy aligned with business goals.

- Act as a trusted advisor to the executive team on legal, regulatory, and governance matters.

Compliance & Risk Management

- Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and industry standards, particularly in EV manufacturing and environmental areas.

- Proactively identify and mitigate legal risks across the business.

Corporate Governance

- Advise on corporate governance practices and ensure statutory compliance.

- Oversee board governance, including preparation of board meeting materials and resolutions.

Transactional Support

- Lead negotiations and provide legal support for major business transactions such as partnerships, JVs, licensing agreements, and vendor contracts.

- Draft, review, and manage contracts and agreements to safeguard company interests.

Litigation & Dispute Resolution

- Oversee litigation, arbitration, and other dispute resolution processes.

- Manage external legal counsel relationships and performance.

Intellectual Property (IP)

- Protect and manage the companys IP portfolio, including patents, trademarks, and trade secrets.

- Advise on securing and enforcing IP rights.

Employment Law

- Provide counsel on employment law issues, workforce policies, disputes, and regulatory compliance.

Government Relations & Advocacy

- Represent the company with regulatory authorities and industry bodies.

- Monitor and respond to legislative and regulatory developments in the EV sector.

Qualifications

Education

- LLB or equivalent degree from an accredited law school.

Experience

- Minimum 10 years in a legal role, with emphasis on corporate, compliance, and regulatory work.

- Prior experience in the automotive, technology, or manufacturing sectors is preferred.

- Fundraising experience.

- IPO management experience preferred.

- Knowledge of EV industry regulations is a significant advantage.

- In-house counsel experience or a blend of law firm and in-house roles is strongly preferred.
