Legal Counsel - Renewable Energy Sector

India's leading energy company is looking to hire a Legal Counsel with 12 to 15 years of experience for their Hyderabad location.

This role is responsible for managing the organization's legal function by providing strategic and business-oriented legal support across renewable energy projects and corporate operations. Key responsibilities include advising management on land due diligence, litigation, regulatory compliance, contracts, dispute resolution, governance, and legal risk management while protecting business interests.

The role requires strong expertise in land laws, commercial contracts, regulatory frameworks, and legal matters related to the Renewable Energy sector, including Solar, Wind, and Green Hydrogen projects

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Provide legal and strategic support on commercial, contractual, and regulatory matters.

- Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize contracts and legal documentation.

- Advise on renewable energy regulations, IPP frameworks, land acquisition, due diligence, and title verification.

- Handle litigation, arbitration, dispute resolution, claims management, and represent the company before courts and regulatory authorities.

- Ensure governance, compliance, risk mitigation, and legal support for procurement, insurance, vendor management, and corporate matters.

- Liaise with government authorities, consultants, and external counsels while supporting business objectives.

- Lead and mentor the legal team, ensuring timely and quality legal support.
