The Legal Counsel - Compliance will support the Legal & Compliance team in managing and monitoring India-level and global compliance requirements for AM/NS. This role involves ensuring adherence to applicable laws, regulations and internal policies, while coordinating with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to implement, oversee and maintain a robust compliance framework.

Job Responsibilities:

- Strong understanding of Indian laws and global compliance requirements and trends, to support implementation of India and global compliance tools and programs (e.g., anti-bribery, anti-corruption, whistleblower, sanctions check, data privacy).

- Assist in drafting and reviewing compliance policies, SOPs, and training materials.

- Review and adapt contracts and contract clauses for third parties that the company transacts with depending on identified risk and develop risk mitigation options to protect AM/NS from business and reputational risk.

- Liaise with internal departments and external counsel to address compliance queries and issues.

- Maintain compliance records and certificates, prepare periodic updates and reports for global compliance team, senior management and regulatory bodies, as required.

- Conduct periodic risk assessments and evaluate control / mitigation measures, including in line with enterprise risk policy and assessment criteria developed by global team.

- Keeping abreast of latest laws, regulations, rules and industry trends impacting the organisation and assess impact on business operations.

Desired Candidate Profile

- Bachelor's degree in law.

- 2 - 4 years of relevant post-qualification experience from a law firm (Tier 1 or Tier 2) or in-house experience, with focus on business risk identification / compliance / legal / regulatory affairs, preferably in manufacturing / industrial sector.

- Strong communication, analytical and drafting skills.

- Diligent, able to work independently and be able to manage numerous projects simultaneously.
