Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Payroll professional to lead and manage end-to-end payroll operations for 20,000+ employees for a leading Banking/BFSI organization. The role requires strong expertise in large-scale payroll management, payroll governance, statutory compliance, payroll controls, stakeholder management and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end payroll process for a workforce of 20,000+ employees.
- Own the monthly payroll cycle from payroll inputs, validation and processing to salary disbursement.
- Oversee payroll inputs related to new joiners, exits, promotions, increments, bonuses, incentives, attendance, leave, LOP and reimbursements.
- Ensure accurate and timely salary processing and payroll closure.
- Manage Full & Final Settlement (F&F) and employee payroll-related processes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable payroll regulations including PF, ESIC, Professional Tax, TDS, LWF, Gratuity and Bonus.
- Oversee payroll reconciliations, audits, controls and variance analysis.
- Coordinate with Finance, HR, Business HR, Compliance, IT and payroll vendors.
- Manage payroll service providers and ensure adherence to defined SLAs.
- Handle senior-level payroll escalations and ensure timely resolution.
- Prepare payroll MIS, dashboards and management reports.
- Drive payroll process improvements, automation and system enhancements.
- Ensure confidentiality, accuracy and security of employee compensation and payroll data.
- Lead, develop and mentor the payroll team.
Candidate Profile:
- 10-15 years of relevant experience in Payroll / HR Operations.
- Strong experience managing large-scale payroll operations for 20,000+ employees.
- Banking / BFSI / Financial Services experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end Indian payroll processes and statutory compliance.
- Experience in payroll audits, reconciliations, controls and governance.
- Experience managing payroll vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of HRMS / Payroll platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Workday, ADP, PeopleSoft, Ramco, Darwinbox or similar systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
- Prior experience in team leadership and managing high-volume payroll operations will be preferred.
Education:
- Graduate / Postgraduate in HR, Commerce, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline.
