Hiring: Principal Associate Commercial Litigation
Location: Hyderabad
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Principal Associate to join our Commercial Litigation practice at our Hyderabad office. The role involves handling complex, high-stakes commercial disputes and offers a hybrid exposure to litigation and advisory work, working closely with Partners and senior team members. This position is ideal for professionals who thrive in a fast-paced, intellectually rigorous environment and are eager to take ownership of matters while mentoring junior team members.
Qualifications & Experience:
- A three-year or five-year LL.B. degree from a reputed university with a strong academic record.
- 5-7 years of post-qualification experience in Commercial Litigation, Real Estate disputes, and/or Arbitration.
- Additional experience in general corporate advisory, including securities law, exchange control regulations, and IPR disputes, will be considered a strong advantage.
Prior involvement in mid-to-large scale litigations, including:
- Commercial and contractual disputes
- Domestic and international arbitration
- General civil and criminal litigation before multiple forums
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle end-to-end litigation support in commercial and corporate disputes, including strategy formulation and execution.
Draft and review a wide range of legal documents, including:
- Legal notices and replies
- Plaint, written statements, rejoinders
- Appeals, writ petitions, SLPs
- Written submissions, briefs, and written arguments
- Assist Partners in preparing matters for hearings and appear before courts, tribunals, and arbitral forums as required.
- Conduct in-depth legal research using multiple databases and deliver well-reasoned first-cut drafts, incorporating strong factual and legal analysis.
- Provide value addition by identifying key issues, strengthening legal grounds, and improving drafting quality.
- Engage directly with clients for case updates, legal advice, and strategy discussions, as and
when required.
- Keep abreast of developments in commercial laws, judicial precedents, and regulatory changes impacting litigation and advisory work.
- Mentor and guide junior associates and interns on research, drafting, and procedural aspects.

Strong working knowledge of:
- General commercial laws
- Civil Procedure Code (CPC)
- Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC)
- Limitation Act
- Company Law
- Constitutional law
- Court, tribunal, and arbitration procedures
- Familiarity with filings and procedural compliances before:
- Civil and Commercial Courts
- High Courts and Supreme Court
- NCLT/NCLAT and other statutory tribunals
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent command of spoken and written English.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to apply legal principles practically.
- Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively under the guidance of an Associate Partner/Partner.
- Comfortable working under tight timelines and managing multiple matters simultaneously.
- Tech-savvy, with efficient use of computers, legal databases, document management systems, and familiarity with social media and e-commerce mechanisms.
- Willingness to visit courts, statutory/regulatory authorities, and client offices as required.
