Your role:

As an Assistant Manager - Payroll and HR Compliance, you will take complete ownership of monthly payroll operations and ensure seamless statutory compliance across the organization.

What would you do at Khatabook?

- Own end-to-end monthly payroll processing, including salary calculations, deductions, arrears, and full & final settlements.

- Manage statutory compliances: PF, ESI, Professional Tax, TDS, and related filings under Indian labor laws.

- Ensure timely and accurate filings, reconciliations, and statutory payments with zero compliance gaps.

- Maintain accurate payroll data, employee records, and documentation.

- Act as the go-to person for employee payroll queries - clear answers, quick resolutions.

- Support internal and external payroll audits and prepare reports for management and leadership reviews.

- Collaborate closely with HR, Finance, and external vendors to keep payroll operations smooth and scalable.

What are we looking for?

- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field.

- 5-8 years of hands-on experience in Indian payroll processing.

- Strong working knowledge of PF, ESI, PT, TDS, and Indian payroll compliance frameworks.

- Proficiency in payroll systems and advanced MS Excel(this is non-negotiable).

- High attention to detail, strong ownership mindset, and clear communication skills.

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
