Job description :
Job Title: Head of Sales & Distribution
Location: Corporate Office Gurgaon, with extensive travel across North & Central India
Reports To: Managing Director (MD) / Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Objective:
To lead and scale KKULs sales, channel distribution, and rural market expansion with the goal of increasing its distributor base from 800+ to 1,500+ pan-India, driving revenue growth and strengthening the companys leadership in the cattle feed and animal nutrition industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve aggressive growth targets in existing and new geographies.
- Drive expansion into untapped markets across Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, and beyond.
Channel & Distribution Development:
- Strengthen and expand the distribution network to over 1,500 active channel partners.
- Design and implement dealer/distributor incentive programs to improve ROI and loyalty.
- Optimize C&F and last-mile delivery networks for efficiency.
Team Leadership:
- Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing sales team including Regional Managers and Area Sales Managers.
- Establish robust sales review mechanisms and KPI-driven performance management.
Rural Engagement & Farmer Outreach:
- Drive rural marketing initiatives including on-ground farmer meetings, advisory camps, and product demonstrations.
- Collaborate with the extension team to integrate farmer education programs for better livestock nutrition adoption.
Market Intelligence & Competitor Analysis:
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and pricing strategies to maintain market leadership.
- Utilize data analytics and ERP tools for forecasting, demand planning, and performance tracking.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with marketing, customer success, and product development teams to align sales strategies with branding and farmer engagement initiatives.
Key Requirements:
Experience: 10+ years in Sales & Distribution within FMCG, Agri-inputs, Animal Feed, or Rural Consumer Goods sectors.
Proven Track Record: Successfully scaled distribution networks in rural/semi-urban markets.
Expertise: Deep understanding of rural markets, dealer/distributor management, and go-to-market models.
Education: MBA in Sales/Marketing or equivalent from a reputed institute.
Skills: Leadership, negotiation, channel management, data-driven decision-making, and strong execution capabilities.
Preferred: Prior experience in Agri-inputs, Dairy, or Livestock feed industry.
